Paul Tsai invented the technology in N95 masks, and now works tirelessly to maximize availability

Paul Tsai is a materials scientist living in Tennessee. He invented and patented the filtration technology used in N95 masks in 1995. Although he retired, since the COVID pandemic he has been working tirelessly with private and government agencies, including the Oak Ridge National Laboratory of the US Department of Energy, to find ways to sterilize and also speed production of the essential N95 masks.
